Star Wars fans have long enjoyed custom Saber Force lightsabers for cosplay or props. Recently, however, this hobby has blossomed into a multi-million dollar industry.

custom Saber ForceAt Galaxy’s Edge, Savi’s Workshop offers an immersive experience that integrates Jedi lore and an engaging performance into creating a custom lightsaber.

Peace & Justice

Custom lightsabers make great souvenirs of exceptional quality, ideal for display or cosplay. You have several options in Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge, but one of our favourites is Savi’s Workshop.

Savi’s Workshop is an enhanced experience that combines building your custom Saber Force with an immersive narrative and performance element. Here, you’ll meet a secret group of Gatherers dedicated to restoring balance in the galaxy. They guide each building process step and impart their wisdom along the way.

Start by selecting your kyber crystal, which determines the colour of your blade. From there, you can start adding pieces to create your hilt. Savi’s Gatherers will show you each of their four themes and assist in selecting parts that suit you best.

Each theme offers an array of hilt pieces with various design options. Some themes are more classic than others, but they all provide a wide selection of beautiful designs.

Peace & Justice features salvaged fragments from fallen Jedi temples and crashed starships in Republic-era designs that pay homage to the galaxy’s former guardians. These pieces have a more traditional Jedi aesthetic, making them one of the top choices for your lightsaber hilt.

Power & Control contrasts, featuring weapons forged by dark side warriors from remnants from the Sith homeworld. While less traditional in design than its two companion themes, these pieces still possess a Jedi-like aesthetic.

On the other hand, Elemental Nature draws attention to elements of the Force found in nature, such as Brylark trees, Cartusion whale bones, Rancor teeth and more.

These custom Saber Force parts can give your lightsaber hilt some unique personality or combine light and dark styles. Although they’re not cheap, investing in these components will pay off if you want to create a genuinely unique lightsaber.

There’s no time limit for your lightsaber-building experience at Savi’s Workshop, but the maximum number of guests allowed is 14. As this can be an intensely long experience with only one builder available, be sure to book your reservation as soon as possible!

Force & Nature

Before creating your lightsaber, select one of four themes: Peace and Justice, Power and Control, Protection and Defense or Elemental Nature. Your chosen theme will determine which parts are available when entering the workshop.

Once you’ve selected your Kyber Crystal (which can change the colour of your blade), hilt kit, and additional parts to build your saber, attach them to a padded sheath with TSA-approved lock so it can be checked or carried onto any plane returning from Galaxy’s Edge.

Arriving at Savi’s Workshop, you will be welcomed by one of the Gatherers responsible for ensuring your experience is safe and pleasant. They will guide you through each step and issue you a pin that allows entry into Savi’s Workshop.

Once inside the workshop, you’ll find all your parts for crafting a saber on a large table. A couple of Gatherers will be nearby to assist with construction based on the selected theme during check-in.

The Gatherers provide an in-depth explanation of each section of the hilt and its components. They even supply you with a kyber crystal that gives your hilt its colour – one of the most exciting parts of this experience!

If you opt for a theme incorporating natural elements, such as Brylark wood or Cartusian whale bone, you will also receive hilt pieces made of these materials. According to Star Wars canon, these materials provide powerful connections with nature and the Force.

Once you select your theme, you will be asked which kyber crystal you want for the hilt. You can choose red, blue, green or purple crystals to give your blade its colour and sound.

After a few minutes, you’ll receive the hilt kit with all the components necessary to assemble it. There are four sleeves to select from, two emitters, two pommel caps and two sets of activation plates. Once your hilt has been made, your Gatherer will help assemble and attach the blade to its corresponding hilt so you can take your custom-built lightsaber home!
